Dwaine works closely with his clients to develop personal investment plans which are highly suited to their immediate and long-term needs as well as their retirement and estate planning goals. His specialty is in business succession and continuation plans. This involves the coordination of estate plans with executive benefit and personal investment plans.  This experience has served him well in servicing the needs of professionals who are now allowed to incorporate and benefit from new planning opportunities.

Dwaine's clients benefit from his focus on developing lasting relationships and has an extremely successful record in helping individuals and corporations plan for and protect their financial future. Prior to joining Lawton Partners in 1986 and becoming a principal in 1987, Dwaine was a life insurance broker with a major life insurer.

Dwaine chose to move to Lawton Partners and further develop his education and skills so he could offer his clientele a higher level of financial expertise, broader services and investment choices. His experience also includes volunteer work in the community such as several terms on the Board and as Vice-Chair of the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation.

Dwaine is passionate about many things in addition to his work. These passions include his wife of over 30 years, Leslie, his two children who are attending the University of Manitoba, his many friends, and his two Irish Wolfhounds.

David Myers

David graduated from London University in 1969 with an Honours Law Degree. Upon moving to Canada , he entered the financial services industry and has spent much of his career supporting independent financial advisors in tax and estate planning for their clients.

After many years working with one of Canada 's leading life insurance companies, David became an independent consultant serving the needs of a select number of prominent independent financial advisors in both Tax and Estate Planning and Practice Development.

David joined Lawton Partners in 2004, where one of his specialties is Business Succession Planning, which entails the passing of businesses from one generation to another.

He has addressed a number of organizations on the subject of tax and estate planning, including the Manitoba Bar Association, the Estate Planning Councils of Winnipeg and Thunder Bay and the National Life Insurance School at the Banff School of Fine Arts, along with providing seminars for accountants, lawyers and independent financial advisors.

Among his various community activities, David has been a founding member of the Board of Sport Manitoba, President of the Manitoba Horse Council, Program Chair for STEP Winnipeg and Fundraising Board for the Winnipeg Inner City Missions.

David has been married to Norma since 1973 and they have one daughter, Rebecca, who is one of the top Show Jumping Riders in Manitoba . Late in life, he has admitted to becoming a bad, but obsessed golfer.

Lucy Vogrig

Lucy joined Lawton Partners in September 2007 and brings 25 years of financial experience to the King team.  As a previous manager, she is dedicated to client service and has in-depth knowledge of administration, lending, investing and financial planning.

Being a strong supporter of the community she is actively involved in the Rotary Career Symposium and the St. James Rotary Club. She is on the Board of Directors and audit committee of the Teachers Retirement Allowance Fund (TRAF).

Val Skene

Val joined Lawton Partners in 1995.

Val finds her work with Lawton Partners to be especially interesting and challenging. She enjoys working with Dwaine and respects his comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry and his professionalism in dealing with clients.

She describes her main role, aside from client service and processing, as keeping her team focused and on track to meet day to day challenges.
