Rowland joined Lawton Partners in 2004 after spending five years as an independent investment advisor with a leading financial planning firm. Rowland has a Master’s degree from the University of Manitoba with an extensive background in science and economics. He also holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations and has taken several tax courses, specializing in individual and corporate tax planning issues. This combination of graduate-level university studies and financial planning credentials equips Rowland with the skills required to help clients meet their financial goals.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Rowland and his family are proud to be a part of the community of Linden Woods. He and his wife Jan are very active parents who love spending quality time with their young children Mason and Parker (along with Freeway, the beloved family Springer Spaniel). When he isn’t busy with work and family, Rowland enjoys playing squash and golf and spending time outdoors. He is also dedicated to supporting the community and is currently a member of the Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Finance Committee.
Rowland is passionate about working with individuals and small business owners to develop and implement clear, concise financial plans which are carefully monitored to ensure every client’s objectives are achieved. He is proud to be known as a down to earth, genuine advisor who has the client’s financial success as his ultimate goal.

Marnie Schettler
Marnie joined Lawton Partners in July 2007 to assist Rowland Forster bringing with her several years of experience in the financial services sector. Her knowledge of the industry, along with her organizational skills, has been an asset to the team.
Her role encompasses scheduling, and preparing for client meetings, processing and following up on financial transactions. Marnie takes great pride in working along side clients, helping them to meet their financial goals.
Marnie holds her Mutual Funds License and Investment Funds Operations Course.
Marnie enjoys her volunteer work with both the Canadian Cancer Society and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada.
